The Hualien County Disaster Prevention Education and Guidance Group usually hold regular meetings and present operational reports and lectures at the College of Environmental Studies. During this meeting, the head of the government's educational unit, Lu Gu Le, also arranged for the director of the Earthquake Research Center, Zhang Wen Yan, to introduce the center's operations and give a lecture on disaster prevention and mitigation technology of natural (earthquake) disasters. He also talked about how data from research can be applied for prevention technologies.
