A symposium on the Hualien earthquake in 2018 with Japanese experts

When the earthquake occured during February 26, 2018, experts gathered in the Institute of Earthquake Research at National Dong Hua University (NDHU) to hold a symposium on the disaster that occured and to share their experience on the prevention measures they took.  A lecture was held by Dr. Zhang Wen Yan, the director of ETEC, and Dr. Yan Jun Yi, the vice director, to introduce a briefing of the earthquake. Participants who worked on the disaster also reported their observation and results. In addition, Japanese earthquake experts and scholars, from the Institute of Earthquake Research, University of Tokyo, Japan, also attended the symposium to learn about the situation, discuss the prevention of disasters and exchange their expertise knowledge on their relevant field. Namely, they were Professor Xu Cong from the Earthquake Research Institute, University of Tokyo; Dr. Wang Xin from the Institute of International Disaster Prevention Strategy of Tohoku University; Dr. Dang Ji from the Institute of Science and Technology of Saitama University; and Mr. Lin Qing, Director of the Engineering Department of Kawakin Holdings Co.
