Visitors from Geoforschungs Zentrum, Germany

Professor Niels Hovius and his team, from the German Geoforschungs Zentrum (GFZ), collaborated with scholars from Taiwan University(NTU) and Chiao Tung  University(NCTU) to visit the Eastern Taiwan Earthquake Research center (E-TEC) on May 12, 2017. They gathered to discuss the establishment of an earthquake and rainfall monitoring station in the Li Wu River. They also further discussed collaborating and sharing their data in hopes of integrating earthquake and landslide disaster prevention research. This collaboration helped with the collection of fundamental data on disaster prevention in Taiwan.
